Bareminerals foundation brush or any brush?

I have just purchased the Bareminerals foundation and I realized I don't have their brush for it! However, I have a normal foundation/powder brush. Will it make any difference if I used a cheap generic brush instead of the Bareminerals brush with the bareminerals foundation? Also, should I buy a full bareminerals kit? Or is the foundation good enough? Cause thats basically all I need but I feel that I'm lacking a whole "perfect" system of make up and face coverage tools.

I work at a be boutique- Use the brushes- they are cut a certain way to hold the minerals. The Kabuki brush is for full coverage- i love that brush- the Flawless application brush is for light to med.. coverage. The kit is a fab way to go- it comes with the brushes to start with and a dvd you can watch-The brushes do shed some because they are hand tied- wash them once a week at least with baby shampoo- washing in a downward direction-squeeze out excess and fluff a little to let them air dry. If you can go to a boutique it's well worth the trip- the store carries over 200 eyeshadows -etc. You will learn a million things there. use blush ?????or not ????which shade ?

my cheeks have a natural pinky/peach (more pink-red than peach) flush to them and i use bare minerals foundation in fairly light (i think thats my colour) i have blue eyes and brown-strawberry blonde hair and i have dark eyebrows and eyelashes
should i wear blush and if yes what shade ????i want it to look natural

Foundation shade match please help me!! ?

Hello! I'm currently using the MaxFactor Miracle Touch foundation and im a golden 75 on that one, but I didn't really like it that much, i think it looks like a lighter shade when you put it on.
And I'm interested in a couple of new foundations, like the Mineralize Skinfinish Natural by Mac, and the Mat Velvet + by makeup forever, and also the Bare Escentuals bareminerals matte foundation.
The only problem is that we don't have those brands in my country, so i have to order them, and I need help matching my shade... I know that just knowing that im a golden 75 on MaxFactor doesn't say much, but hopefuly someone can help me...

I think if you order them , you'll be sure to get the wrong shade . You should just go to a store in your area, and use the testers to find the shade . Forget about the ones you have to order .

matching everyday minerals foundation?

hi everyone! im hoping someone may help me. i am interested in trying everyday minerals foundation, but am not sure what exact color to get. i use bare minerals medium currently. i am planning to get the samples from everyday minerals, but when i was on their site, 70% look like they would match! haha. if anyone can help that would be awesome!

The only way to know for sure what color you are- is trial and error.... Are you ordering these online- or actually going to a drug store/beauty supply store? .. You could always bring your old shade into the store and match them up. I would get numerous samples of the ones you think are the closest in color... Then try them out hun!

I recently bought BareMinerals..help?

can someone kindly explain how to apply it, i seen the how-to video but i don't understand because its so confusing! . The kit i bought has;

First I use the bareVitamins Skin Rev-er Upper and apply it all over my face and neck. Then I use the lightest of the two foundations as a concealer (use the concealer brush). I use it under my eyes and any other blemishes. After I'm done with concealing, I use the darker of the two foundations and apply all over my face by using the kabuki brush. Add a little to the lid of the container, swish with the brush, tap the excess then apply to your face. Keep doing this until you feel you have the right coverage. Next, I use the Warmth all over face color. Use very little...a little goes a long way. I apply it over the apple of my cheeks, nose, forehead and chin. Last, I apply mineral veil all over my face...a very little amount is all you need. Apply just like the foundation. Then at the very end I apply mascara and lip gloss. Hope this helps.

fake a tan bare minerals foundation?

alright i finally found a self tanner for my body that is good and doesn't turn me orange its the faux tan by bare escentuals. I use fairly light foundation on my face, and its the match of my skin color but i want my face to be as tan as my body but every tanner for the face makes me break out, so i was thinking i could use the medium tan foundation color on my face to match my body. would this work? i know the make up is great because i use it, but has anyone ever tried this and is it a good idea?

go to sephora.com they actually make a faux tan bare minerals kit for your face. also you may want to try the tinted meneral veil. i wouldnt change your foundation color. try the tinted mineral veil and use the warmth. or get the faux tan for faces.

Your firend is right, lighter foundations can have yellowish tones to them. You could always try mixing two colors. I have to do that a lot. It might balance out the yellow tone if you mix a "light" with a "fairly light" if they don't offer a lighter color without all the yellow.

Mineral make up came about in the mid 1970's and is now a booming market of eye shadows, blushes and foundations. The finely ground hypoallergenic ingredients are from minerals which occur naturally and have no chemicals, preservatives or dyes.

Supporters of this type of make up believe it is purer than normal products, which contain perfumes and chemicals and its natural products create no allergies. Cynics argue that the ingredients are present in conventional make up and no particular benefits (health wise) can be found in this type of make up.

Contradictory information exists, so people will have to decide for themselves what to believe. Trial packs are available online to test at home, and contain most types of blushes, foundations and eye shadows.

Make up is used to cover unattractive inconsistencies and blemishes and to enhance natural beauty. All make up will differ in appearance depending on the light it is exposed (sunlight, regular or fluorescent lighting).

Experts recommend mineral make up to be applied with expensive synthetic brushes (not animal hair). They don't shed hairs or attract bacteria easily. Test skin appearance in differing types of light by applying only one layer of make up. Setting powders can also change how foundations appear.

For mineral make up application the skin should not be oily and must have moisture, so its best that your face is freshly washed - use gentle cleansers and lightly moisturize, allowing a minimum of 15 minutes for the moisturizer to penetrate the skin, before applying make up.

Seasons are important when choosing colors for blushes and foundations. Slightly darker foundations can be used for summer, which matches your tan, with lighter colors of blush, eye shadow and lipstick. Less make up is required in summer as it can also clog pores and the skin has slightly more oil - you might also be sweating outdoors. Winter foundations should be adjusted to take into consideration the absence of a tan, however, colors for lips, eyes and cheeks could be warmer and darker.

Naturally oily skins should require mineral powder and not a liquid mineral foundation. Mica is used to make the skin look shinier and if oily skin is a problem, then avoid a foundation that includes it.

Cynics say that mineral make up isn't suitable for women with strong ethnic backgrounds because it makes them look green or yellow - they can only establish this by testing it. Online trial size kits cost $10.00 or less and companies are keen to assist people because satisfied customers will return for more purchases.

Mineral makeup has taken the beauty world by storm over the past few years, but what is it about this foundation that is getting everyone talking you may ask?

Most mineral make up is made up of a pure pigment in some cases they have been mixed with talc so requires you to use a specific brush to apply the mineral. Many brands out there have now extended their mineral makeup range to include blush, concealers, bronzers, eye colours and eye liners. Also the range of shades and colours is amazing. Making BareMinerals foundation last all day?

Love my Bare Minerals so much, but they like get absorbed into my face by 12:30.
Anyway, I do use the primer, my foundation shade at the moment is a 60/40 mix of fairly light and light. Then I've the bisque concealer. And yes, I'm using that amazing Kabuki brush!
As for the mineral veil, I ran out, but it never made a difference for me. Should I stock up again though?
Oh, yeah, I'm Irish, so please don't reccomend anything from like Sephora, we haven't got it! xDD so boots and Brown Thomas!

OK, I think the pro doesn't use Bare minerals... My bare minerals stays on all day ( I do the same as you) without the mineral veil... the primer has always been enough for me.... i brush over my face with my kabuki for a wuick touch up and Im ready to go!

Dont stock up unless you have to - i dont need to, but it all depends on your face... If you're more oily then sure: but try going without it and see what you think.....

If you have recently thought you'd want to wear mineral makeup, but you aren't sure how to apply it, you might be surprised and happy to learn that it's fairly easy to apply mineral makeup flawlessly.

While liquid makeup can cause all sorts of problems and can look terrible if applied incorrectly, mineral makeup gives you much more room for error. It's actually hard to make a mistake.

But there are a few tips that you should know. These tips will apply mostly to the application of natural and mineral makeup foundation since that's the starting point and once you get the technique, applying other elements like eye shadow will be easier.

Prime

First, prepare your face properly for the application of makeup. This means make sure that your skin is clean and that you have moisturized. Give the moisturizer time to sink into the skin before applying anything else.

Many women like to put primer on their face before adding foundation and this is totally up to you. If your skin isn't as smooth as you would like, or you like the added comfort that a primer gives you, then by all means use a primer, too. Many mineral or natural cosmetic or makeup companies offer their own primer so you can use products that are all within the same line.

Tools

Make sure that you have the proper tools to use your mineral makeup. If you buy the makeup and decide to scrimp on the tools, you might not get the flawless finish that you want.

There are two primary brushes you can use to apply mineral foundation - a kabuki brush and a large, wide makeup brush. The kabuki generally provides a finish that's smoother, but a bit heavier handed. It's good for women who want a more made up finish. If you like to use a lighter hand, you can use a large blush brush for your foundation.

It's ideal if you buy the brushes from the same company that makes the mineral makeup. You can be assured, then, of getting the right brushes for the mix of minerals you are using.

Technique

Bare Minerals, the company that pioneered the resurgence of mineral makeup in recent years, promotes a technique that works with any mineral makeup brand you might use.

The technique is called "swirl, tap and buff". Simply put a small amount of your makeup into the lid of your mineral makeup container and swirl your brush into it, trying to get as much makeup on the brush as you can. Then tap off the excess back into the lid of the mineral makeup container. Then, with a light hand, buff the makeup onto your face.

It's hard to do anything wrong when applying mineral makeup, but some women find that their makeup has been applied with a heavier hand than they would like. Often, it won't look as if you have applied makeup right after you do. That's because the minerals haven't had a chance to settle into the skin. Once they do, your skin will look smoother and you'll see that the makeup is there. So don't add more makeup until you give the minerals a chance to settle in.

Applying mineral makeup and mineral cosmetics is definitely a different technique than applying other kinds of makeup, but it's not difficult and the results are worth a little time spent training.
