Hi! It’s awesome that you’re asking about the correct steps as there is a LOT of misinformation out there. There are 3 basic steps: Cleanse, Tone, and Moisturize. You first Cleanse with your choice of cleanser; the cleanser can come in a lot of different varieties (like dry skin/oily skin/sensitive skin) and also different consistencies (cream/lotion/foam). Yes it can also be called face wash or face cleaner or face soap (NEVER actually use soap on your face as it will mess up the pH balance). Put the cleanser on your face and wash off with warm water with your hands or a washcloth (try not to use a washcloth more than 2 or 3 times because of bacteria buildup). Then, you’ll need to fine a Toner (sometimes called astringent or refresher). This is ALWAYS a liquid product that you apply on your skin using a cotton puff. Last step is Moisturize, and as you can imagine there are many types of moisturizers as well. A lot of them come in jars or bottles, some with SPF protection and vitamins, some more basic. Skin types tend to fall into three main categories: oily, dry, and combination skin. Most skin types are genetically determined, but can be worsened by the environment, diet, harsh soaps, and overuse of the wrong skin care products. It’s easy to determine which skin type you have. When you get up in the morning, before you take a shower, wipe your face with a dry tissue, top to bottom. If it comes up greasy, you have oily skin. If it’s dry, you have dry or combination skin; a little grease on the center of the tissue also suggests combination skin. The main hallmark of an oily skin is an overall shine. The skin is often sallow and its texture may be coarse, the opening of the sebaceous glands, or pores, may be particularly noticeable. Oily skin tends to attract dirt and dust more readily than dry skin.

you do not need a cleanse and a face wash as these are doing the same thing. You first need to cleanse the skin with the cleanser to remove any traces of dirt on the skin you then need to tone which will remove any excess of the cleanser left as well as closing the pores then you need to moisturise to hydrate the skin to keep it soft and supple

It’s definately the very best website for information about skin care, natural/organic claims. The health care provider who owns it explains everything in easy to understand terms. Apparently she sells very special products but unfortunately she does not sell on the internet (wish she did!). If you subscribe to her newsletter you will receive little known secrets on how to have the best possible complexion. I subscribed last week. Now I’m waiting for a free teasoap! 6. Blot skin dry after 2 minutes once moisturiser has settled
