Mac Pigment Colour

Difference between colour pigment in MAC eyeshadow pans and containers?

i compared on the MAC website, and it seems to be that the same colour (Ex. Quarry) in eyeshadow pan form seems to be a slightly different shade lighter than the Quarry in the MAC eyeshadow containers.
has anyone else witnessed this kind of experience/problem?
so should i buy the eyeshadow container instead ?

buy whichever one has the most ounces! (it's usually the ones in the individual containers, the pans look so small) and DO NOT trust what you see online, the eyeshadows I own look WAY different online.
