Mac Eye Shadow...Palette and Case?

So i finished one of my mac eyeshdows that come in their case and i was wondering if i could just buy the palette and put it in the original case? Will it fit and is it a good idea?

MAC offers eyeshadows in singles and pallette forms.

You can buy them in a pallette of 4, that is the most popular. Once you are finished you can go to a MAC stand alone store, not a Macy's Nordstrom or Bloomingdale and buy refills. The refills will not be in the same color because the prepacked 4 quad are normally limited addition seasonal shades.

As a Freelance Artist I collect the pallettes in a set of 15. I buy the refills and I can arrange my colors as I see fit. It's easy for me to take to photoshoots, runways, films and other makeup applications. The slim case makes it easy to to travel with.

So to answer your question, yes you can buy refills to fit your pallette.

If you have a premade pallette it may be hard to remove the eyeshadow's metal case so be very careful. I had to use an exacto knife to remove mine because the premade pallettes are really made for refills but you can force them to fit.
