chances of getting an interview at MAC cosmetic (counter)? here are my experiences:?

Hi everyone I turned in my resume today at a MAC counter at my local mall. What do you think are the chances of me snagging an interview? I came there dressed in black with makeup done. Unfortunately the store manager wasn't there so instead I gave my application to another associate. She did ask me about the pay and the amount I was interested in. I'll include my past experience tell me what you think? I do have the passion for make up and I'm always excited to learn new things

also how long should i wait to call back to see if the manager received my resume? what do mac employers look for?

The manager got your application, along with a few hundred others most likely if your city is like most hard economically hit cities. It doesnt mean you do not have a change in general, but anyone with cosmetics counter experience might get more of a look over.

I would never call if a job means something to you, I would dress to impress, dress like the gals dress at the counter, and go in and if you must return a few times to be there, when the manager is, so be it, your persistance could pay off!
Showing up, shows it means something, calling, you could sit and dial away for hundreds of jobs, doesnt look like you care as much to be hired there.
I would ask, as another counter, what do they require to hire, most would likely have some sort of sameness, ask if previous experience is a must, but if thats true, then what counters hire new to that particular industry. You have worked at two very near the same type industries, I wouldnt doubt you could do a wonderful job working at cosmetics.
Good luck, I think you have a good change with your background, try applying at all the cosmetic counters, and increase your chances!
