The first makeup essential that is applied to your face is the foundation. Its purpose is implied in the name. Foundation prepares your face for the rest of the makeup. It is like preparing a canvas before you paint. The rest of the makeup looks better when foundation is applied. To cut out a bit of the cost, try doing some research first. There are plenty of sites on the web that provide reviews of various makeup brands, including all of the mineral makeup manufacturers.
The first step for a beautiful make-over is to find the right foundation for oneself. Most Asian, Latin and Caucasians women have yellow-based skin. In order to look natural with a flawless look they need to wear yellow based foundations.
Apply blush to your face to resemble the natural glow of your cheeks and watch the compliments flow in. A hint of makeup blush...and you can look fresher and prettier. The trick lies in choosing the right blush color and learning how to apply blush correctly. But often blush remains the most misused makeup cosmetics. When it comes to applying your blush, less is best.
Foundation forms the base of the face makeup and is applied after the face has been cleansed and moisturized. Wait for a few moments for the moisturizer to be absorbed before applying the foundation. Use your fingertips or a damp sponge to dab small dots of the foundation on the forehead, nose, and cheek and chin area and blend well right into your hairline and jaw line.
The eyes are also the key to a slimmer face. The bigger the eyes the smaller the face will appear as a whole. Play up the eyes by putting extra mascara on the top lashes. Avoid mascara on the bottom lash, this will encase the eyes and make them appear smaller. Use the shadow in the crease of the eyes. Then to highlight the eyes use a light iridescent powder just under your brow to make your eyes appear larger and brighter.
Use the wrong color base and foundation on your face will exaggerate your face. For example, use fair pink colour on your tan skin will make your face purple. So choose the nearest your skin colour foundation. For those who have fair skin, Pale Yellow of Bobbi Brown is recommended. For the tanned people, Chanel no. 8 is good for you. Anyway, you do not need to choose the recommended ones but the good foundation colour should not be a very white or fair ones as it will not come out naturally.
Place a small amount of foundation on the back of one hand. Dip your makeup sponge into it. Apply foundation by dotting it on your forehead, cheeks, chin and nose and then blend each one with your sponge. Blend out to your hair and jaw line until the foundation vanishes. Pay special attention to blending around the nose, mouth and jaw line. When applying foundation, slightly rubbing toward the neck area helps create less of a line around the face!
